  • What is the difference between Microblading, Ombré, Combo and Nano Brows?
Microblading Microblading is a permanent makeup tattooing technique, using a handheld deviced made up of tiny nano needles that creates the tiniest strokes. These fine "hair-strokes" are formed into a pattern that will blend seamlessly into your skin to create a natural looking brow. Microblading is most suitable for dry to normal skin types. Ombré Powder Brow This technique is done with a machine. Pigment is inserted into the skin, gradually building up the color to the desired saturation. With this technique you can go for a soft, natural look or a fuller, bold look. Ombré brow technique is great for all skin types, especially those with oily or mature skin. Combo Brow This technique includes microblading towards the front of the brow, plus soft powder shading throughout the body and tails of the brow. This technique is great for those with minimal to no natural brows or those looking for a fuller, more filled in brow look. Combo brow technique is great for all skin types. Nano Brow Nano machine hair strokes is a technique made up of thin, hyper-realistic hair strokes using a machine. This technique causes less trauma to the skin meaning it is great for all skin types - even oily skin. Each strokes' thickness and saturation can be tailored to client preferences. Nano brow technique is great for all skin types. My goal with any brow servies is to enhance your natural beauty. My goal is to create a natural looking brow that shapes and frames your face according to your bone structure and natural features. Your brows, just better! If you're having trouble deciding which service would be best, no need to worry.. Your artist spends the first hour to an hour and a half shaping, mapping and helping you choose the best service to suit your needs.
  • Am I a candidate for Microblading, Ombré, Combo or Nano Brows?
A cosmetic brow tattoo is perfect for clients who want to define or extend their brows, cover groups of lost hair or completely reconstruct the entire brow shape. Whether you have little to no hair or thick hair, we can achieve a defined and tailored look to fit your needs. Your card on file will be charged 50% of the canceled service/ treatment.
  • How long does the procedure take?
The intial session typically lasts between 2.5 hours and 3 hours. I will ALWAYS take my time and make sure you are 100% comfortable before moving on to any part of the procedure. The breakdown of an initial brow service: >Paperwork and Questions: 30 minutes >Mapping, Pre-Draw and Numb: 1 hour >Procedure: 1 hour >Reveal, Photos and Aftercare: 30 minutes The breakdown on a perfecting session: >Quick Pre-Draw: 15 minutes >Procedure: 45 - 75 minutes
  • Do I need a consult?
I do not offer in person consults during this time. During your initial appointment, there is time alloted to answer any questions that you may have. I will do a full mapping of your brows and always get your approval before moving forward with the actual procedure. If you are feeling uncertain if permanent makeup is for you, I do have a virtual consult option. For virtual consults, I require a full face photo that is clear and bright (the back camera works best). This photo can be sent through text or email, I can do a full mockup on my computer go show you some realistic brow mappings. Before your photo mock-up, I will send you a small questionaire to help me determine which brow service will be right for you. Virtual consults are $20.
  • Will my cosmetic tattoo hurt?
Most clients will report little to no pain. I use two types of topical anesthetic agents for your comfort. The first is used pre-procedure and the second is used during the procedure oce the skin has been broken.
  • Why do I need a perfecting session?
During the initial session, together, we will talk about your skin, the desired shape or look that you wish to achieve and color options. After your approval, we will begin the tattoo portion of the procedure and you will leave with your new beautiful brows. After the healing period, we will see how your skin takes to the pigment. Even with great aftercare some hairstrokes or pigment could fade out leaving some areas looking patchy. This is totally normal and exactly why the second session is crucial to your finished look. During your perfecting session, which is scheduled 6-12 weeks post initial session, we will make adjustments to your brows as needed; add shading or adjusting the color. *Please note that during the second session, we are adjusting the shape that has already been tattooed. A completely new shape will be charge as such for extra time needed.
  • How long will my new brows last?
After your initial session and your 6-12 week perfecting session, your new cosmetic tattoo will last 18+ months. Ombré and Combo brows typically stay fresh and vibrant anywhere from 2-3 years. With "annual" color boosts every couple of years, your brows will always look fresh, crisp and beautiful. Long-term aftercare is key. Most of my microblading/nano clients return for their "annual" color boosts between 12-24 months. Most of my ombré/ powder/ combo brow clients return for their "annual" color boosts between 24-36 months. Less is more when it comes to touchups. I prefer my clients to return once brows are faded at least 50% before implanting more ink into the skin. The best way to describe skin is to compare it to a sponge - the skin can only hold so much ink before it has nowhere to go. This is why we want to wait until brows have faded significantly. This helps keep the integrity of the skin in prime condition for the freshest brows for years to come.
  • When will I need to book my annual color boost?
The longevity of your cosmetic tattoo will depend on a few key factors. Your lifestyle, skin type, sun exposure, skin care routine, overall health, etc. will determine how fast the pigment will metabolize. At your final appointment, I will go over your long term care for the absolute BEST long time results. With that said, it is important to let your brows fade (not completely) but at least 50-60% before booking your "annual" color boost. The skin can only take so much pigment and it is very important to me - as your artist, to keep the integrity of the skin intact so that we can keep things fresh and healthy. Most clients of mine come back between the 24-36 month time frame. If you have a very active lifestyle, are outside a lot, or have an oilier skin type, typically you will come back every 18-24 months for a refresher. If you are ever unsure if you are ready for an annual color boost, please send me a clear photo. I will always be 100% honest, keeping the integrity of the skin is my number one goal.
  • After I get my brows, when can I wear makeup?
While brows are healing we prefer absolutely NO makeup. However, during the two week period, it is understandable you may have an event during this time and in that case, makeup is okay AROUND the brow area. NEVER ON YOUR BROWS DURING THE HEALING PERIOD. When removing the makeup please use a makeup wipe, as you need to be extremely careful to NOT get any makeup residue or cleanser residue on your brows. Essentially, only the aftercare soap and balm inn your kit are the ONLY items allowed to be on your brows. Once brows are healed (two weeks) it is safe to apply makeup to your brow area. I recommend only using a soft powder. These are much easier to remove than pencils, gels or pomades and you will want to avoid having to over exfoliate the brow area to avoid premature fading when removing makeup.
  • After I get my cosmetic tattoo will I need brow makeup?
When choosing a service, please keep in mind what your end goal is. Any permanent makeup service is considered a low maintenance, but not no maintenance look. Microblading or Nano Brow is meant to be the most natural of all PMU Styles. Since there is no shading between the strokes (for a super natural look) you will likely need a brow powder when doing a full faced makeup look. Combo and Ombré brows are going to give you a fuller and filled in brow. You will likely hardly have to fill in brows in these services. A brow mascara or gel or a little powder here and there on a full faced makeup application is all you'll need. PRO TIP: When applying foundation to the entire face, remember to use a wet q-tip to remove foundation from your brows. This light layer over your brow tattoo will make your brows appear lighter and change the color of your permanent makeup underneath.
  • How can I get the best resuts?
There are a few important things to remember when getting any cosmetic tattoo service. • The key to getting the best results is going to be following all pre and post care instructions. Not following these instructions will greatly effect your healed results. Please keep this in mind when booking your appointment. • Having healthy skin. Leading up to your appointment, try to stay hydrated and clear of breakouts. • Limit sun exposure pre and post appointment as we cannot work on sunburnt skin.
  • I have had my brows done before, will you do them?
I require anyone who has had their brows done previously by another artist send me a picture BEFORE booking an appoinment. I typically only go over other artists work if it is at least 70-95% faded, and all new clients to me are considered initial sessions. While your brows may seem faded to you, sometimes they aren't faded enough for me to give you the best results. This is why you MUST send a photo prior to booking your appointment if you have had any time of previous cosmetic tattoo. My goal is to give my clients the brows of your dreams, while also giving you the best healed results over time. If brows aren't quite faded enough to successfully cover, do not worry... There are ways we can fade the remaining pigment either at home or through saline removal sessions in my studio.
  • How do I prepare for my appointment?
You will get much better results when you properly prep your skin. The eyebrow area must be healthy, strong, non-sensitive and non-irritated. Preparing for your appointment is just as important for good healed results as post care. Failure to follow pre-care may result in you being sent home the day of your appointment, so please read the following carefully! Here's how to get your skin ready for your brow procedure. 2 WEEKS BEFORE: • BOTOX: Botox must be done at least 14 days prior to your appointment - this is not a requirement, you do not NEED botox. This is simply a guideline to plan accordingly if you receive Botox (or any injectables) • SKIN TREATMENTS/ HAIR: No waxing, tweezing, threading, facials, peels, laser treatments or electrolysis 2 weeks prior to your appointment. We need your skin to be strong, non-sensitive and non-irritated. It actually is benefitial for me to see your brows grown out and in their natural state. I can clean them up at your appointment. • SUN EXPOSURE: Be mindful of sun exposure before your appointment, absolutely no tanning and no sunburned skin for your procedure. Not only will this be painful for you, but tanned or sunburnt skin is "damaged" skin, applying a tattoo to this WILL give you poorly healed results. • TOPICALS: Please refrain from using any retin-a products around the treated area for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment. ONE WEEK BEFORE: • VITAMINS/TOPICALS: No fish oil or vitamin E one week prior to your procedure • TINTING: If you regularly tint your brows and want to color match, please tint at least 7 days prior to your appointent. DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT: • PLAN AHEAD: Please check traffic, I do have a strict late policy. Please arrive 5 minutes early or on time to your appointment. • WASH YOUR HAIR: You will need to keep your brows dry for the next 10-14 days, washing your hair day before or day of is recommended so you're not hassling in the shower for the first few days. • AVOID EXERCISE: This will increase the blood flow and cause excessive bleeding during the appointment - leading to poor healed results • MAKEUP: This is totally your preference, we will be taking photos, so please come however you are most comfortable. If there is a certain way you fill in your brows, it is helpful to see how you are used to shape and color them.
  • What is the aftercare for my brows?
Aftercare is SO important. After leaving your studio, your results are 100% up to you! It is very important to follow these instructions for the FULL 14 day healing period to ensure proper healing and color retention. Results will vary for all individuals and we cannot guarantee your results. DAY OF APPOINTMENT: 1. Wash your brows for the first time within 2-4 hours of your brow procedure 2. Pat dry with a disposable paper towel 3. Apply a light layer of balm 4. Repeat the cleansing and balm/lotion right before bed Cleanse morning and night for 7-10 days or until the flaking has stopped. Apply balm 3 times per day for two weeks (if oily 2 times per day). HOW TO CLEANSE YOUR BROWS: • Make sure to wash OUTSIDE of the shower and in front of the mirror to ensure you are washing the entire brow area • With CLEAN hands and fingertips gently wet your new brow tattoo • With your fingertips, using the soap provided in your aftercare kit, create a small lather • Apply the suds to your brows following the direction of the hairgrowth. NO circles or hard rubbing! • Rinse well with cool water (making sure to get all of the soap residue off) • Pat dry with a clean paper towel HOW TO APPLY YOUR BALM/LOTION: • NEVER on wet skin. Make sure your brows are completely dry before application. • Using a q-tip and a rice grain sized amount- apply your balm/lotion directly to your brow tattoo, following the direction of the hair growth • Be sure to use a LIGHT amount as you want the skin to be able to breathe • With the balm/lotion the brows should NEVER appear shiny • If over-applied this could delay the healing process and hinder your results • If you are unsure, take a clean tissue and lightly blot the area IMPORTANT TIPS: • KEEP DRY (no shower water, sauna, hot tub, lake, ocean AND sweat) until completely healed. AKA no scabbing or flaking left (about 10-14 days) • KEEP DRY in the shower! Steamy hot showers will cause the pores to open and scabs to soften. AVOID the water especially shampoo and conditioner running down your face - this WILL cause color discoloration! (Try to limit shower time to 5-7 minutes) NO baths. • DO NOT sweat excessively for at least 10 days. Sweat contains salt and can infect and prematurely fade your brow tattoo during the healing process. Salt in the sweat will alter the color of your tattoo. • NO makeup, lotion or skin care on them until completely healed. • DO NOT pick, rub or scratch scabs! • NO ANTI-AGING OR ACNE PRODUCTS EVER!!! (anything with retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, etc.) on your brow tattoo EVER! This WILL cause fading and discoloration VERY quickly. • Please consult a physician at the first sign of abnormal swelling or infection. • DO NOT expect your brow tattoos to heal perfectly after the first session. ALL brow procedures are a two-step process. The first session is used to build shape and gain symmetry and the second is session is used to perfect the brows and add density. It takes time, BE PATIENT. During your 10 day healing process, your brows will change and appear different from day to day. • Immediately after your procedure, brows will appear darker and more defined. This can last up to two weeks. Your brow tattoo can appear more solid, hairstrokes may seem to disappear and it may look wet and painted on. • Around 4-5 days you will start to experience flaking and your brows may look dry. DO NOT PICK your brows - let any flakes and dryness fall off naturally. If picked you will be pulling out your pigment, causing patchy brows and can lead to scarring. • Your brow tattoo will take up to 4 weeks to fully heal. When the flaking comes off the hair strokes may seem faint or non-existent, this is because a fresh layer of skin has healed over the brow tattoo. Give your brows a few weeks and the hairstrokes will become clearer. Color will continue to change on a daily basis until all healing is complete at the 4 week time period. • Not everyones hair stroke brows can heal clean and crisp. Hairstrokes for oiler skin types can sometimes heal more solid and powdery, while drier skin types tend to heal very crisp and defined. Also, for clients who tend to bleed more may need additional touchups as blood pushes out the pigment while we tattoo. • Use at least SPF 50 to protect your brows, sun exposure WILL cause fading and can alter the color of your tattoo • DO NOT use chemical exfoliants on the brows, this WILL cause fading • DO NOT laser your brow area, some lasers may change the color of pigment • As the tattoo fades, the strokes will get fainter and less defined • Maintenance is required to maintain desired results. Touchups are done every 9-18 months to maintain your cosmetic brow tattoo. • Hairstroke brows typically last 1-3 years. Powder/Ombré/ Combo brows typically last 2-3 years.
